Trafalgar Square
Trafalgar Square

Trafalgar Square is one of London's most famous tourist attractions, it is dominated by Nelson who stands on a column above the square. It was built to commemorate Admiral Nelson, who was killed during his victorious battle against Napoleon's navy off Trafalgar in Spain 1805. The square is also famous for its resident pigeons who are always more than happy to see tourists bearing food from the seed seller. At Christmas it has become custom for Norway to send a huge Christmas tree as a token of gratitude for Britain's help during the Second World War, it is also at the heart of London's New Year Celebrations with people gathering there to see in the new year.
